My name is Najib Bardash. I was born in Moscow, Russia in 1989 and later on moved to Gothenburg, Sweden - my current place of residence. I'm going to be honest with you, writing a bio was kind of hard for me, or at least it didn't come naturally. I refuse to write that third-person narrative listing my featured projects in newspaper covers. Partly because I have none. What did become important to me - as this site evolved - was my artistic voice, which gradually began to form in my texts and pictures. This is not the story of an established BBC-wildlife photographer (nothing wrong with that of course), this is the story of my interests in art, nature, and the beauty of our world merging into one.
The driving force can be boiled down to two things:
1. The pleasure I get from capturing the elegance of nature.
2. (Cliché-warning!) Making a difference.
The latter is (despite it's cheesy form), highly motivating. I am of the belief that our generation needs to earn our future, even though we might not be around to witness it. My way of communicating this message is through beauty - pure and simple. There is a place for alarming reports and political treaties, but my main avenue is photography.
With that said, as a law student I also intend to post information addressing the legal side of environmental issues. Our planet cannot be saved by politicians or intelligent consumers alone, everyone's in it (whether you like it or not).
Lastly, a big hope of mine is to inspire people to learn more about photography. You don't need to be a professional photographer to enjoy the benefits of better quality pictures. As with cooking, you'll find use for it on a daily basis. Whether you want to improve your vacation album or take the leap from amateur to semi-professional, I want to be your light in the dark. Knowing what I know now, I can tell you that it isn't that difficult. Imagine being in control of your camera after a quick couple of lessons, in stead of defaulting to AUTO as your main weapon.
I invite you to tag along my journey and see where it leads. Hopefully, you'll begin to share my passion for nature and photography and learn a thing or two on the way!
