Paris - Black & White (and some gold)
Okay, so every photographer wants to/has been to Paris and shot the major cites. I'm all about doing unique art, but I have always felt that stereotypes and patterns do have something to them. Armed with my camera I went around the city and gradually understood the fuzz. Of course there's the cozy boutique-esque Paris with cafés and baguettes along with some chardonnay wine. However, I decided to focus on the architecture in black and white (or should we say black & grey as tattoo artists do?) with a little touch of gold. My take would be focused on the details in these beautifully ornamented buildings. Shapes are generally very well portrayed when eliminating colors and sticking to basics, so I figured why not?
It's amazing how narrowing down your field of focus gives you a dramatically different picture, while equally interesting. An analogy might be that of the universe on a cosmic scale as well as looking under a microscope (or nowadays a nano scope) to see what's lurking underneath. All right, the gargoyles of Notre Dame are quite famous, but personally I had no idea of that the Eiffel Tower had inscriptions on it's structure before i zoomed in and decided not to shoot the classical full frame view of the it. My verdict is that traditional tourist attractions are of value, as long as you try to exhibit your own voice, creatively speaking. But by all means, have that wine with perhaps some escargot of your choice.
